FIA Sports Management is pleased to announce that Javi Fuego has re-signed with Valencia CF for a further two years, keeping him at the La Liga club until 2017.
Fuego was originally contracted until next summer, but his performances for Los Che this season have convinced the club to keep him around beyond then.
Now signed up until 2017, he will also have the option of agreeing a further year beyond then, despite already being 31 years old.
The former Rayo Vallecano man becomes Valencia’s third renewal in recent weeks, following on from those of Antonio Barragán and Paco Alcácer previously.
Speaking on Fuego’s new contract yesterday, Valencia President Amadeo Salvo was full of praise for the work the midfielder has done this season.
“We’re very pleased that Javi Fuego will be continuing here with us,” Salvo said, “his continuity (in the team) has been earned by his effort, his work and his values off the pitch. He is a player that deserves to continue at Valencia.”
Fuego has made 54 league appearances and scored 3 goals for the club since his arrival in 2013.
