Javi Fuego scores for Valencia against Real Madrid

FIA Sports Management’s Javi Fuego scored his third goal of the La Liga season to put Valencia CF 2-0 up against Real Madrid.

Real Madrid eventually came back but Valencia held them to a 2-2 draw on Saturday in a game which saw Cristiano Ronaldo miss a penalty and the Galacticos dropped two vital points in the title race that leaves FC Barcelona four points clear with two matches left.

Madrid controlled much of the first half and were denied by the crossbar twice early on through Gareth Bale and Ronaldo before an injury to Toni Kroos was quickly followed by Paco Alcacer’s opener.

Javi Fuego doubled Valencia’s lead shortly after with a brilliant glancing header that left Iker Casillas with no chance.

Valencia shot stopper Diego Alves equalled Andoni Zubizarreta’s record of 16 penalty saves in La Liga, as he thwarted Ronaldo just before the interval.

The Real fightback began early in the second half as Pepe headed in from a corner and, as Alvaro Negredo saw two chances go begging, former Valencia youngster Isco was the next on the scoresheet, sealing a draw in spectacular fashion late on. A draw, however, leaves their title bid in tatters.

Javi Fuego signed a fresh two-year contract extension with Valencia in April that will keep him at the Mestalla Stadium until 2017.
