Matt Smith has been installed as the new club captain of Bangkok Glass FC.
The appointment is symbolic as Smith becomes the first ever foreign player in the club’s history to given this role.
Smith has enjoyed a standout season for the Rabbits since moving from A-League club Brisbane Roar in December 2014.
He has established himself as one of the best and most consistent defenders in the Thai Premier League.
English-born Matt Smith joined the Roar ahead of the 2010/11 season and was named captain of the A-League club in August 2012. He made over 100 appearances for the club and has been a part of the Roar’s three Hyundai A-League Grand Final wins (2011, 2012 and 2014) and two Premiers’ Plate (2010/11 and 2013/14).
