Sergio Cirio

Sergio Cirio Olivares (9 March 1985) is a Spanish footballer who plays as a right winger / striker for Adelaide United in the Hyundai A-League.


Born in Barcelona, Sergio Cirio spent most of his career in Spain in the Segunda División A and B. He started his senior spell with local club CF Badalona.

Sergio Cirio is a is a ‘speed’ player, who relies on quick movement from a wide position or as a striker to have an impact.

In the 2007–08 campaign, Sergio Cirio played with Atromitos F.C. from Greek Superleague, but left after one season following the club’s relegation.

Sergio Cirio was the club’s leading scorer with 22 goals in the 2012/13 season.

On 8 July 2013, Sergio Cirio left CE L’Hospitalet and signed a two-year contract with Australian club Adelaide United FC to join up with fellow Spaniards Isaias Sanchez and Head Coach Josep Gombau.

In his first season in the A-League, Cirio scored 8 goals in 23 appearances for the Reds as they qualified for the Finals Series.

The 2014-15 season was a successful one for Cirio. He lead his team to list the inaugural FFA Cup as the competetions leading scorer with 4 goals and a Man of the Match performance in the Final. He also helped the team secure AFC Champions League football.
